Everything you need to describe us accurately.

Boilerplate you can paste, a fact sheet, brand assets, and a plain statement of what each programme actually is today. If something here is not enough, write and you will get a direct answer, including “we would rather you did not say that yet”.

Short boilerplate

BalanceByte LLC is a United States health technology company building evidence-grounded software that adapts to the individual rather than the population average. Its programmes include Lattice, a provenance and data-management platform for research laboratories, and an adaptive nutrition application currently in beta.

Full boilerplate

BalanceByte LLC, founded in 2026 and located in the United States, builds measurable, evidence-grounded health intelligence that adapts to the individual, not the average. The company's near-term programmes are Lattice, a system of record for research laboratories that binds samples, instrument data, versioned methods and results into a hash-chained audit trail; and an adaptive nutrition application, in beta, that lets people log meals by photo or voice without prescribing a diet. Both serve a longer-term thesis in precision health: that individualised care requires a sensing layer capturing continuous physiology and an intelligence layer that turns those signals into guidance people will act on. BalanceByte's products are wellness and research-data tools and are not medical devices.

Written as one word, capital B twice: BalanceByte. Never “Balance Byte” or “Balancebyte”. The company is BalanceByte LLC on first reference.

Describing the programmes 02

What each thing is, and what it is not.

Early companies get described as further along than they are, usually with their own help. We would rather hand you the accurate version, because a correction later costs us more than a bigger headline earns.

Lattice

In development · founding cohort open

Accurate

A provenance and data-management platform for research laboratories: sample lineage, instrument data, versioned methods and a hash-chained audit trail in one system of record. Its analysis has been validated against a laboratory’s own workbook, reproducing 100% of that lab’s results to the decimal. It is in development with a founding cohort of ten facilities.

Please avoid

Not a single-assay tool, not “deployed across laboratories”, not generally available yet, and not a LIMS replacement. We do not discuss which analysis capabilities are built or planned, so please do not attribute a roadmap to us.

The nutrition app

Beta

Accurate

An adaptive nutrition application in closed beta on iOS via TestFlight. Users log meals by photo, voice or text; the app asks at most two clarifying questions and returns an estimate. It does not prescribe meal plans.

Please avoid

Not “launched”, not a calorie-counting or diet app, and its outputs are estimates rather than measurements.

Research & development

Early research

Accurate

Early-stage research and development into pairing continuous physiological sensing with behavioural data. It is a research programme: there is no product, no timeline we are prepared to state publicly, and no results we are ready to publish.

Please avoid

Not a shipping product, not a device we manufacture, and not something available to buy or trial today. Please describe it as research and development, without specifics we have not provided.

Usage

  • Do not recolour, outline or add effects to the mark.
  • Do not crop it to a square. The mark is portrait, and squaring it cuts the bowl of the B and the tip of the leaf.
  • Keep clear space around the mark equal to at least half its width.
  • Do not set the wordmark in another typeface or letterspace it.
  • Editorial use covering BalanceByte is fine; do not imply endorsement.
What we can talk about 04

Subjects we can speak to credibly.

We will decline an interview about something we have not done. These are the areas where we have direct experience and an opinion worth printing.

Research reproducibility and chain of custody

Why labs can usually tell you what a result was but not how it got there, and what a tamper-evident record actually requires in daily operation.

The retention problem in nutrition apps

Why most food-tracking apps lose users by day 30, and what removing the failure state costs a product in short-term engagement.

Claims discipline in health technology

Where the line between wellness and medical claims sits, and why an early company should draw it publicly before a regulator does.

Building deep tech without venture capital

Non-dilutive funding, university core facilities as first customers, and what a small team can realistically ship before raising.

Media enquiries

Talk to us directly.

There is no agency and no comms team between you and an answer. Tell us your outlet, your angle and your deadline, and you will hear back within one working day, sooner if the deadline is tighter.

We are happy to fact-check a passage before publication, provide a quote on the record, or tell you plainly when we are not the right source for a story.

Questions from journalists 05
Do you have a press kit beyond this page?

This page is the press kit: boilerplate, fact sheet, logos and accurate product descriptions. If you need something specific, whether a higher-resolution mark, a product screen recording, or a quote for a particular angle, ask and you will get it the same day. Quotes are attributed to BalanceByte rather than to a named individual.

Have you issued press releases?

No. We have not announced funding, launches or partnerships, because none has happened that would justify one. When something genuinely newsworthy occurs it will be published here first.

Can we get user numbers or revenue figures?

We do not publish metrics we cannot substantiate, and we will not confirm figures we have not released. What we will do is tell you honestly which stage a programme is at, which is usually the more accurate story anyway.

Will you comment on competitors?

On the record we will discuss the category: how photo-based logging works, what accuracy claims in this space actually mean, why retention is the hard problem. We will not disparage named products.

Can we use your screenshots and logos?

Yes, for editorial coverage of BalanceByte, unmodified and with the usage rules below respected. Please do not imply endorsement, partnership, or that a programme is further along than the status on this page.
