Precision medicine,
adaptive by design.

Your body is not a population mean. BalanceByte builds measurable, evidence-grounded intelligence that adapts to the individual, and holds every product to a single test: does it help someone make a decision about their body that their own data confirms is working?

The thesis 01

Precision health needs two things working together.

Tailoring guidance to an individual requires continuous personal data, which means a sensing layer that captures the body’s signals comfortably, and an intelligence layer that turns those signals into guidance a person will actually act on.

Everyday health products fail on both fronts. They demand behaviour change people will not sustain, and they rely on rigid devices people will not wear continuously. We are building the intelligence layer into a real business now, and pursuing the sensing layer as a staged research programme that the software’s audience and revenue help de-risk.

Software first, deliberately

The intelligence layer earns revenue, builds the record and proves the model while the research matures. Each phase must earn its next.

Neither layer works alone

A sensor without behavioural context produces numbers nobody acts on. A behaviour model without physiology is guessing. The value is in the pairing, which is why we build toward both rather than pick one and call it precision.

The moat is the record

A sensor can be copied. A longitudinal, auditable record of what actually happened, and the behaviour model built on it, cannot.

The standard 03

Five tests a decision either passes or fails.

Our values are written to be enforceable, not aspirational. Where a proposed initiative cannot be traced back to the mission, or does not reflect these values, it does not proceed. When priorities compete, the mission decides.

  1. Evidence over hype

Every claim, rule and feature is grounded in current science and real measurement. We would rather ship a smaller capability we can defend than a larger one we cannot. Intelligence must be transparent, auditable and explainable to the person relying on it.

  2. The individual, not the average

People are not population means. Guidance adapts to a person’s own signals and is confirmed against their own data. We inform and empower rather than shame, restrict or manipulate.

  3. Ruthless focus

We do a few things exceptionally well and permanently retire the rest. Anything that fragments the core thesis is deferred or killed, however attractive it looks in isolation.

  4. Build for trust and compliance

We handle sensitive health data, so we operate to regulated-industry standards from day one. Quality systems, data integrity, privacy and audit readiness are foundational, not retrofitted.

  5. Durable systems, sustainable leverage

We build systems that work without any one person in the room, and grow through leverage rather than heroics. Every phase must earn its next: prove value, then expand.

Claims discipline 04

What we don’t claim is part of the product.

“Precision medicine” is a regulated phrase. Drawing the line between wellness and medical claims early, and staying on the right side of it, is what makes the long-term plan credible. Here is exactly where we stand today.

Estimates, not measurements

Nutrition figures from photo or voice input are estimates. We say so in the product.

Wellness, not diagnosis

Nothing we ship today diagnoses, treats or prevents disease, or replaces a clinician.

Research is labelled research

Work that is a laboratory result and not a product is described that way, including to investors.

Your data is never the product

We do not sell health data, and we do not train third-party models on identifiable records.
